Mardi Gras is the time I really get homesick for the Gulf Coast. For the first 50 yrs of my life. I have spent Mardi gras in Mobile AL. I miss the parades, the parties, the formal white tie balls, the food, the luncheons during which the ladies wear hat and gloves, the craziness. I have wonderful memories of my sisters, friends, and me descending the staircase in our ball gowns while the young men awaited us by the fireplace. They looked so handsome in their white tie and tailcoat - I think they knew it, too.
What a fabulous feast, from the Oysters Rockefeller to Cafe Brulet. Let the good times roll.

I would like seconds of everything, please. I have never tried Café Brulot but something tells me that I am missing out.
