The Easter Table...Tulips!

Setting an Easter table for me has always been a problem.  When the children were little the bunnies and the eggs always found their way to the decorations but, let's face it, now that we are all grown up, it all seems pretty silly to me.   When it comes to a centerpiece for Easter, tulips have always been my flower of preference and this year here are some arrangements that caught my eye:

When kids are at the table:

Casual indoors:

Casual outdoors:

Just casual:

This is new.  Haven't quite made up my mind:

These I like!

And then, of course, there is Carolyne Roehm:  Nobody, NOBODY does tables like her.  She is my Elvis Presley!

Oh, okay...and for a kid's table here is my favorite:

  2. Yes, I agree with you -- tulips are the greatest centerpiece for Easter and you've found some classics. Carolyne Roehm is one of my heroes as well -- oh, to have all of her china and glass! Sigh!

    1. ...and all her $$$$ though I'm sure she gets to "borrow" some at times, or so I like to think! How about her wrapping paper collection?!

  3. I love Parrot Tulips, but they are less available. And I was just thinking how much I love lilacs, also not very common in southern arrangements because of availability.

    1. Oh John, how I miss those lilacs. I used to have tons around a fence in my house in Conn. Would take some branches on the train to the office in NYC and the whole car would smell divine! Haven't seen them around here.

  4. Fabulous ideas, Carolyne is my Elvis too as are you!
Lilacs need 'chill hours' which we don't get enough of in the south. The one lilac that does well here is 'Miss Kim" but she lacks the fragrance.
    Happy Easter!

  5. Very inspiring. The ones for the kids are especially fun, even if you're only a kid at heart. One of the downsides of spending the winter down south is that we miss seeing our tulips bloom. I always thought it would be fun to be able to pick your own and arrange them. Thank goodness they are easily bought. Ina Garten also likes to decorate with tulips a lot.

    Happy Easter.

    1. Thank you for your kind words. You can't imagine how much comments mean to a blogger. I seem to have a very quiet audience and wish they would get more involved. It gives me a sense of what they like (or not) and helps me determine the content of future posts.

You will like the next recipe, I guarantee!

Happy Easter to you and your family. J

  7. These are all such beautiful tables and flower arrangements. I find it hard to pick a favorite, though by disposition I'm drawn to the lilacs with which you started this post. I hope you have a great day. Blessings...Mary
